  Note from Vernon Sherman: " Lambert Lincoln was my dad's favorite uncle. He'd been his good friend and help on many an occasion. Mother and Dad both thought the world of him. He was a witty man and exceptionally good hearted. He'd been handicapped by a twisted neck since childhood and so had always to carry his head close to one shoulder. He loved children; always kept hard candy on hand for those he knew. I saw him perhaps two or three times when I was a small boy. The memory is pleasant but vague."
