Born in Bluffton, IN, Roger worked as a motor coach tour director with Encore Tours & Travel and also as a school bus driver with FWCS.

He was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church of Angola, IN. Roger was a member of the Maumee Masons Lodge #725 F & AM; Shriners, Scottish Rite, past patron of Eastern Star #432 F.W. Chapter.

He served as a member of the U.S. Army, a Steuben County Marine Patrol Officer and an Allen County Sheriff Reserve Officer.

Surviving are son, Michael (Lynda) McKinney of Fort Wayne; daughter, Debra Marie McKinney of Fremont, IN; 2 granddaughters, 5 great-grandchildren; and brother, T. William (Betty) McKinney of Fort Wayne. Roger was preceded in death by wife, Patricia McKinney; parents, Fred and Florence McKinney; and siblings, Carol Grounds; Kenny McKinney; Kathleen Blackman; and his step-mother, Helen McKinney.

Calling will be Monday, April 25, 2016 at D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Rd, from 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm with an Eastern Star and Masonic Service at 7:00pm.

Cemetery service will be 11:30 am, Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at Greenlawn Memorial Park, with calling from 11:00 am until the service.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Calvary Lutheran Church of Angola or the Shriners Hospital for Children.

After Sarah died in 1880, Rushmer Hill married Ruth Jordan Summer in May 1883, in Lamont, Michigan. Ruth Jordan died on August 20, 1903, of cancer, according to her death certificate.
