    Exerpt from McIntosh's "History of Ontario County," Reminiscences of a primitive teacher written July 26, 1876. : "When I first knew the country on the east side of Honeoye Lake, there was no house or clearing between the Lanes and a peach orchard lot to the southward and adjacent, what was afterwards the Jeudevine Farm. James Wright lives there and Levi Rice, on the south part of that lot and then Benjamin Sly on the tract afterwards know as the old Job Woods Farm in the mouth of the gully," (town of Richmond).

    Hi Annette, We get enough heads together maybe we can sort this out. I have records and certificates and letters,very old and brittle and hard to read but, Benjamin Sly b. 1746,England d. Ontario Co. N.Y.m.Johanna ? b. England d. Ontario Co. N.Y. 4 children- my line Joshua F. Sly b.1772 Ontario Co. N.Y.d. 1849 Ohio,Christofer b. 7 Sept.1779 Ontario Co N.Y. d.13,Sept 1845, Oakland Co. Michigan, Gideon ? and Benjamin ? Joshua m. Lucretia Calkins b. 7 Aug 1776,Stafford,Orange Co. Vermont in 1793 had 3 children-my line Soloman Calkins b.1794 Ontario Co. N.Y.d.7 Apr. 1871 Ohio, Benjamin ? and Martha Lovinia ?. Lucretia divorced Joshua and took 2 kids with her but left Soloman who was almost 5 with his Dad. Lucretia m.Joseph Thornton and had more children. Hope this helps some.

NFsearch also indicates that Henery has a brother, Stephen, born 1670 in MA who died in 1738

    From Lynn Albert Bumpus book: Ichabod was among the first settlers of Rochester, MA. He was baptised June 2, 1687 at the second church of Scituate. He was born at Scituate, MA. Married at Rochester, MA and resided there and was yeoman of Rochester in 1720. Signed by his mark the appraisal of his father's property. 1738 was a Freeman of Gloucester, RI. There was a migration from Swansea to Gloucester at about this time. George, his nephew, was made a freeman at about the same time. Ichabod witnessed the will of John, 2nd. Mentioned in land transfers at Gloucester 1740,41, 42, 44. In In 1740 land transfer is spoken of as late of Gloucester, RI. now of New Sherburn, Worcester Co. MA Bay Colony.
