Victim of Burns Dies
George Smithers, Age 57, Dies at Lutheran Hospital
George W Smithers, age 57, of 333 French Avenue is dead today, the result of burns received last Friday at his home when his clthing became ignited while he was lighting a gasolene stove.When his clthing caught fire the man started to run, fanning the flames, causing burns that resulted in his death last night at the Lutheran hospital, at 9:30 o'clock.
The deceased is survived by the wife and four sons, Ernest, Paul, John and William; two brothers, John of Fort Wayne, and Charles of Churubusco; two sisters, Amanda and Margaret, of Fort Wayne.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the residence, with the Rev. W. B. Bridges officiating. Interment will be made in Hatfield Cemetery.
